Make It Yours: Branding Your Golf Group

April 12, 20253 min readAll Posts

Upload a logo, pick your colors, and give your players a dashboard that feels like home.

Out of the box, Your Golf Group uses a clean teal-and-orange color scheme. It works. But if your club has its own logo, a school color, or just a strong preference for something other than teal — you can swap it all out in about two minutes. Every member of your organization will see your branding the moment they log in.

Here's where to go and what each setting actually does.

Where to Find It

Log in as an org admin, go to Organization in the sidebar, and scroll down past the general settings. The Branding section is its own card — logo on top, colors below, and a live preview on the left so you can see exactly what your sidebar will look like before you save anything.

The branding preview updates live as you type hex codes or pick colors. No need to save just to check — adjust until it looks right, then hit Save Branding.
1

Upload Your Logo

Click Upload Logo and select a PNG, JPG, or SVG file. Your logo appears in the top-left of the sidebar — replacing the “Your Golf Group” wordmark — for every player in your organization.

Best results: use a PNG or SVG with a transparent background. Light-colored logos tend to read best against darker sidebar backgrounds. If your logo is all-dark, you may want to adjust your Primary Color to something lighter, or use a white version of your logo.

Already uploaded one and want to start fresh? The Remove button clears it and falls back to displaying your organization's name as text.

2

Set Your Three Colors

There are exactly three color controls. Each one targets a specific part of the interface:

Primary Color

The sidebar background. This is the most prominent color — it fills the entire left navigation panel that every player sees every time they log in. Deep greens, navys, and dark grays all work well here. Avoid very light colors; the sidebar text won't be readable.

Accent Color

Active nav items and primary buttons. This is your highlight color — it appears on the currently selected sidebar item, action buttons, and key interactive elements. A warm color (orange, red, gold) tends to contrast well against a darker Primary Color.

Background Color

The main content area behind cards and tables. Most clubs leave this close to the default light gray-blue (#ebf1f5). A subtle tint of your brand color here can tie the whole look together without overwhelming the content.

You can enter a hex code directly in the text field or click the color swatch to open a color picker. Both work. The live preview on the left updates as you go.

3

Save — or Reset

Click Save Branding to apply your changes. Every player in your organization will see the new look on their next page load — no cache clearing, no announcements needed. It just updates.

Changed your mind? Reset to Defaults puts everything back to YGG's standard teal, orange, and light blue in one click.

Not sure what hex codes to use? Search your club name + “brand colors” — most clubs have an official palette. School colors almost always have published hex values. Or just pick something in the color picker that looks right to your eye; there's no wrong answer.

What Players See

Branding is org-scoped. That means it applies to every player whose home organization is yours — their dashboard shows your logo and colors, not the default YGG look. Players who belong to multiple organizations will see each org's branding when they're working in that context.

The invitation email players receive when you add them uses the standard YGG template, but once they're in — every page load, every round, every scorecard — it's your colors.

That's the whole feature. Logo, three colors, two minutes. Your players will notice.
