Our Story
Built by Golfers,
for Golfers.
It started with a binder, a golf pro, and a half-joking comment on a Sunday afternoon.
“Less paper. More golf. More fun.”
How it began
Your Golf Group started with a simple moment on a Sunday afternoon more than 20 years ago.
A golf pro and close friend was standing behind the counter, flipping through a massive three-ring binder while a group waited to get on the course. Pages turned back and forth as he searched for open spots.
Watching the process, I said something half joking and half serious.
“You know… I could build an app for that.”
That comment sparked an idea.
Over the next three weeks, every spare moment outside of work — and in between rounds of golf — was spent building the first version of what would eventually become Your Golf Group. After the course closed one Sunday, I took the binder home, converted the information into a few simple spreadsheets, and loaded the data into the new system.

Every spare moment outside of work spent building the first version.
That Thursday
Software ran side-by-side with the manual process for the very first time.
The next week
The binder was gone.
Today
Built by golfers, for golfers — refined through years of real-world use.
That Thursday, we ran the software side-by-side with the manual process for the first time. By the following week, the binder was gone.
What began as a very basic tool quickly proved it could replace a system that had likely been used for decades. As we implemented it at additional courses and groups, new challenges appeared and great ideas followed. Each course, each golf pro, and each group of players helped shape improvements that gradually evolved the system into what it is today.
Your Golf Group is the result of years of real-world use, feedback, and refinement — built by golfers, for golfers.
Now, the same system that replaced the binder can simplify how you and your buddies organize, manage, and enjoy your golf group.
And this time, you don’t have to build it yourself.
